How ranking works
We check every server ourselves
Every 5 minutes we ask each server for its status, the same way the game client does. Player counts, uptime and ping on OTList come only from these checks — never from other lists or from what owners type in.
Points
A server's points come from its average players over the last 7 days, its uptime, how new it is and, soon, reviews from players.
Player counts that look fake (impossible jumps, more players than slots, counts that never change) lower a server's trust score, and with it its points. Servers with a high trust score get the green shield.
Boosts
Server owners can boost their server. Boost points fade out over 30 days and are always marked “boost” next to the points, so you can see who paid. Boosts can never change the player counts we show.
Where servers come from
Owners add their servers, and our crawler OTListBot finds new ones on public server lists and forums. It only reads pages robots.txt allows, waits several seconds between requests and stores facts like name, address and version — every server is then checked by us before it is listed.
